Thunder Bay IC&I Waste Diversion Leaders |

The Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Sectors in Thunder Bay are leaders in diverting waste from landfill in Ontario. On average, IC&I sectors across the Province diverted 12% of their waste in 2006. (Statistics Canada) Largely due to the ongoing efforts of ZWATeam members, Thunder Bay's IC&I sectors diverted 39% of their waste in 2008. (City of Thunder Bay) The IC&I sectors generate two-thirds of the waste going to landfill and include businesses, manufacturers, schools, hospitals, hotels, retailers and construction/demolition sectors. Way to go, ZWATeam members!
