Boulevard Tree Planting Event |

Councillor Andrew Foulds is organizing the second annual family tree planting event at Boulevard Lake on Sunday, May 4 from 1-4pm. The ZWATeam and several other organizations are sponsoring the purchase of 500 two year old seedlings; Trees Thunder Bay will be providing planting instructions. Last year, a hundred volunteers of all ages planted the seedlings while enjoying a beautiful afternoon in the Park. City staff volunteered their time to dig the holes and mulch and stake the trees. Although still partially covered by snow the majority of the trees appear to have survived their critical first year in their new home. Members are invited to attend and bring spades, wheelbarrows and pails. This will be a Litter Free Green Event; please bring your refreshments in refillable or recyclable containers and use the Park's waste containers.
